Baptism

Baptism is the first of the seven sacraments.  It brings a person into the family of God, fills them with the Holy Spirit, and washes away any sins.  We baptize following the command of Christ:

Go, make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit...
- Matthew 28:19

Infant Baptism

Baptisms for those under age 7 fall into the category of "Infant Baptism."

It is recommended that both parents attend before the birth of your child so that there will be no delay in setting a date for the baptism once the baby is born.  Godparents, too, are welcome but not required to attend the classes.  At least one parent and one Godparent must be practicing Catholics and at least one parent must be registered in the Parish.  Once the sessions have been completed and all necessary information is received by the Parish Office, a baptismal time can be arranged.
